Tour starts in Delhi the Capital of India, this city was ruled by the Mughals for 330 years, they did everything in style and splendour. Today city offers a panoramic vista of heritage and modern India that you will experience during the city sightseeing tour. Mughlai Food will be our first culinary experience known for its richness, exotic use of spices, dried fruit and nuts. We also visit historical Parathewali gali famous for variety of stuffed bread and enjoy Muglai dinner at famous Moti Mahal restaurant known to have introduced butter Chicken into the world. Our next destination is Lucknow; the city of Nawabs famous for Chikan Textile and its Awadhi Cuisine. Till date people of Lucknow spend most of their earnings and time on their kitchens. This is one place that has a colony of Chefs called 'Bawarchi Tola'. Over 450 years Royal Bawarchis (Cook) and Rakabdars of Awadh gave birth to Dum style of cooking or you can say the art of cooking over a slow fire which becomes synonymous with this city. Here we will enjoy Awadhi Dastarkhwan with Kebabs, Sheermal, Briyani amongst other delicacy and also walking food tour of world renowned traditional roadside eateries; Mubins Passana, Raheems Nihari Gosht, Tunde Kebab, Bismillah Biryani and Chanakya Kulfi to name few. We travel to Agra to see the monument of love The Taj Mahal before making our way to Ranthambhor National Park to spot wild life and elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. In Ranthambore we stay at Jungle resort to enjoy Indian bar-be-queue dinner with other variety of food on the menu. Jaipur will be our last destination also known as the Pink City of Rajasthan for its Royal Palaces and Rajput Warriors. An early morning transfer to board express train and enjoy short journey to Lucknow, 'The City of Nawabs'. Afternoon visit to chikan workshop that will mesmerize when you watch skilled worker delicately working on unique styles and stitches on very light cotton cloths. Stay two nights at Lucknow. Day 04: Lucknow

Today morning you certainly want to go for a long walk to keep yourself ready for Awadhi Cuisine dinner so we start our day with city sightseeing tour. Evening get ready for another memorable Awadhi Cuisine Dastarkhwan dinner night where you will be enjoying Awdhi Briyani, Galawat & Kakori Kebab, Sheermal and chef special Raan Musallam to name few. Day 05: Lucknow - Agra

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as morning is free to explore the heritage city of the Nawab on your own. Noon we check out of the hotel and transfer to the railway station to board train to Agra. Evening visit marble inlay workshop and explore local bazaar before returning back to the hotel to enjoy multi-cuisine dinner. Stay two nights at Agra. (B,L,D)


Day 06: Agra

Early morning watch the sunrise over the Taj Mahal. After breakfast visit the impressive 16th century Agra Fort, Tomb of Itimad-Ud-Daulah. While returning we visit Jewell carpet handicraft factory and evening is free to relax or explore this famous town. (B,L,D)


Day 07: Agra – Ranthambore

Drive to Ranthambore en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri also known as abundant town of the Mughals and another UNESCO World Heritage site. Evening free to relax or explore this small village and stay two nights in Jungle resort. (B,L,D)


Day 08: Wildlife Safari & Indian Bar-Be-Queue

Today enjoy morning and afternoon wildlife safari by Jeep, searching for elusive Royal Bengal Tiger amongst many wild species of birds, reptiles. As per surroundings we will enjoy India bar-be-queue dinner in the lawns of the hotel. Food we enjoy will be a selection of tikka’s and kebabs accompanied by local dishes. (B,L,D)


Day 09: Ranthambore – Jaipur & Home Made Meal

Today travel to Jaipur; the Pink City of Rajasthan is a treasure-trove of culture, art and history and famous for its colour, life style and Rajasthani cuisine. Evening we explore Bazaar and later we enjoy a typical house meal consist of vegetables, lentil, non vegetarian, some snacks, rice and chapatti. Stay two nights at Jaipur. (B,L,D)


Day 10: Sightseeing & Rajasthani Food

Today our guided sightseeing starts with an excursion to the Amber Fort, elephant ride at the Fort. In the evening have a traditional Rajasthani Thali at Choki Dhani. (B,L,D)


Day 11: Jaipur – Delhi Departure

Today after leisurely breakfast we travel back to Delhi. Tour finish by late afternoon with direct transfer to Delhi International airport where you board your onward flight. (B)

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is compulsory on all of our journeys. Speak to us or your travel agent about comprehensive insurance to cover your travel arrangements. Medical Information

Our elderly travellers who are aged 70 years or more, or with a per-existing condition that affects their fitness to travel or any medical dietary requirement, must be advised at the time of booking. We recommend all travellers should visit their Doctor for these aforementioned purposes and/or to confirm that they are physically able to undertake the day-to-day requirements of the tour.

Selecting Your Holiday Type

Most of our journeys are suited to those with normal fitness and mobility levels. To assist you in choosing a journey best for you we have graded our tours;

Easy Paced: These programs are set at a comfortable pace. Walking and climbing of stairs involved is generally in and around major tourist attractions though you may require walking from road till boat jetty while embarking or disembarking boats.

Moderate: These tours are not strenuous but you will require good amount of fitness as they may include days with long periods of walking or soft trekking, climbing of stairs, embarking and disembarking boats and where longer distances may be travelled by uneven roads.

Adventurous: These refer to programs where your physical fitness needs to be on highest level. Trekking, cycling, climbing, walking and more adventurous activities may be included.

Getting Around

Comfort is our first priority. All our coaches are air-conditioned with push back seats. We even offer 30-35 seater coach when only 16 people are in a group, providing everyone a window seats. Our train journeys in air-conditioning sleeper class where bedding is provided by the train attendant and itineraries that include domestic flight to connect destination we use economy class.

Passport & Visas

India: Visa is required for all foreign nationals. 

Apply online for a Pre-Approval at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html .The online application should be submitted a minimum of 4 days in advance and a maximum of 30days of the proposed date of travel. TVOA links may also be found in websites of Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Bureau of Immigration, Incredible India etc.

As of 27 Nov 2014 nationals and passport holder of 34 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Finland, Luxem Bourg, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and Myanmar to name a few,  can avail a Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) facility upon disembarking at international airports Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi and Trivandrum only. You will require to pay fees along with require documentation and is subject to verification and satisfaction of the Immigration. Please contact High Commission of India for updated information.

Sri Lanka: Every tourist visiting Sri Lanka required visa prior to departure. Visa must be obtained atleast 01 months prior to arrival in Sri Lanka by visiting www.eta.gov.lk The Tourist visa is valid for stay within 30 days. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel to Sri Lanka. Fee will apply.

Nepal: Visa is required for all foreign nationalities and the best way to apply for visa is from the Royal Nepalese diplomatic missions in your home country. Tourist Visa also can be obtained on arrival. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel in Nepal. Fee will apply.

Bhutan: All foreign nationals require visa for Bhutan.

Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Bhutan. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Bhutan.

Tourism Council of Bhutan issues visa clearance letter closer to travelling date which we email or fax you or your local travel agent. Travellers are required to produce aforesaid visa clearance copy at the time of check-in for their flights while those entering Bhutan by surface via Phuentsholing or Samdrup Jonkhar, they are required to produce this Visa Clearance letter at the Immigration counter. Actual visa is stamped at passport on arrival in Bhutan.

Visa only service is not offered in Bhutan, you would have to book a service tour package from TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS that includes accommodation, guided tours, transfers etc

Myanmar: Visa is required for all nationalities.

Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require international flight details, clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Myanmar. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Myanmar.

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

On arrival you will be welcomed by our Tour Manager at the airport lounge with TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS signboard. Transfer to hotel where you will receive a traditional welcome with Garland and “Tilak” while hotel formalities are completed. Rest of the day is at leisure. Stay two nights in Delhi. (No Meals)


Day 02: Delhi

After buffet breakfast and a quick tour briefing, start your Guided sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi. Drive pass the renowned 17th-century landmark Lal Qila; the Red Fort Palace, Jama Masjid literally meaning the Friday Mosque; India’s principal and biggest mosque, capable of holding 20000 devotees at at time, visit Chandni Chowk; Shahjahanabad’s Main Street in 1650 facing the majestic Red Fort. It originally had a central canal running down its full length, and when moonlight reflected off the water it got the name Chandni Chowk or ‘Avenue of Moonlight’. The canals have long since gone and it is now a chaotically bustling area, typical of real India, containing a mix of stalls, shops, food outlets and temples. Between the mosque and Chandni Chowk is a narrow shop-lined street along which you will experience a cycle rickshaws ride taking you on your most photogenic journey of the tour. The locals go shopping here like nowhere else. A quick visit to the famous Paranthe Wali Gali literally meaning "the bylane of fried bread". The food is old fashioned, strictly vegetarian, varieties include exotic fillings like Kaju, Badam, matar, Mix Paranthas, rabri, khoya parantha, gobi parantha, Parat parantha and many more. Sweet lassi, often served in earthen glasses is also a specialty of this place. Then we tour Khari Baoli, market. "Gadodia Market", situated on the south side of Khari Baoli was built by wealthy merchants in 1920s has one of the numerous spice stores and is Asia's largest wholesale spice market today. We stop for lunch before touring New Delhi including Qutub Minar the 379-step tower dating to 1193, 72.5 meters high, made of red sandstone and marble is the tallest minar in India also visit Humayun’s Tomb and drive past India Gate; that honours the 90,000 Indian soldiers who died in World War . Evening get ready for our first culinary experience and to enjoy truly Mughlai food at the world renowned restaurant Moti Mahal known to have introduced butter chicken to the world in 1948. Day 03: Delhi - Lucknow (By Flight)

An early morning transfer to board express train to and enjoy short journey to Lucknow. 'The City of Nawabs' is an intriguing blend of old world charm, warm hospitality, courteous people, beautiful architecture and rich heritage. The city also is the centre for Chikan embroidery, renowned for its timeless grace and gossamer delicacy, a skill more than 2000 years old. Afternoon visit to chikan workshop will mesmerise when you watch skilled worker delicately working on unique styles and stitches on very light cotton cloths. Ensure you have enough space to enjoy walking food tour of Lucknow which allows you to hop-in, hop-out of the world famous traditional roadside eateries. Some of the eateries we visit are Mobeen's Pasanda, Raheem's Nihari Gosht, Bismillha's or Idris' Biryani, Tundey Kebab and finish with Indian ice ream at Chanakya's Kulfi. Stay two nights at Lucknow. Day 04: Lucknow

By this morning you certainly want to go for a long walk to keep yourself ready for Awadhi Cuisine dinner. So we start our day with sightseeing tour and visit the city, Bada Imambara a famous monument of Lucknow that has historical, cultural and heritage importance. The complex also includes the large Asfi mosque, the Bhul-Bhulayah (the labyrinth) and a summer palace with running water. Government Museum is a must visit for all the tourists and is situated in a modern three-storied building at Banarasi Bagh area of Lucknow. Take a leisurely walk in Hazrat Ganj and Aminabad local bazaar. Lucknow is the centre for Chikan embroidery, renowned for its timeless grace and gossamer delicacy, a skill more than 2000 years old. Here is your chance to shop traditional but very comfortable Chikan dress for tonight’s dinner. Also take a leisure walk in Hazrat Ganj and Aminabad local bazaar. Day 5: Lucknow - Agra

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and the morning is free to explore the heritage city of the Nawab on your own. Noon we check out of the hotel and transfer to the railway station to board train to Agra. Known by all as the home of the Taj Mahal, the city is still associated with the Mughuls who were great builders and you will witness some of the finest architecture as you pass by. Food was also their passion and the cuisine will range from mild to spicy, with specialities in barbeque, curries and bread. Evening visit marble inlay workshop to understand the beautiful calligraphy done with precious gemstones on the Taj Mahal. Day 6: Agra

Early morning watch the sunrise over the Taj Mahal (Closed on all Fridays). The world's greatest monument to love and devotion with its superb craftsmanship of semi-precious stones inlaid into the marble in beautiful patterns, a process known as pietra dura. As you pass through the gates, words cannot do justice to your first close up view of the world’s most famous monument. It was built by Shah Jahan in his loving memory of his wife Empress Mumtaz. Return to the hotel for buffet breakfast. Later visit the impressive 16th century Agra Fort, which was started in 1565 by Akbar with later additions made by his son, Jahangir, and grandson, Shah Jahan. Continue to the white marble Tomb of Itimad ud Daulah, commissioned by the wife of Jahangir in 1622 as the tomb for her father. Described as 'jewel box'or the 'Baby Taj', it is regarded by many as a draft of the Taj Mahal, being the first building to be coated in white marble inlaid with very detailed pietra dura inlay. Jewel carpet handicraft factory. Here you will find world renowned and finest handmade collection of embroidered jewel carpets, exhibiting the distinct essence of Indian tradition. Embroidered Jewel Carpets are a magnificent and exceptional art of Zardozi. This art has traversed through the Mughal era till date. Day 7: Agra - Ranthambore

After breakfast drive to Ranthambore en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri, also known as the abandoned city of Mughals built by Emperor Akbar in 1569. The city was intended to embody the noble ideas and the humanitarian bent of this dynamic Emperor. He had planned this city as his capital but shortage of water compelled him to abandon the city. This deserted city has retained many of the old structures, and is one of the finest examples of Mughal architectural splendour at its height. It is prolific and versatile Indo-Muslim composite style, which is a fusion of the composite cultures of indigenous and foreign origins. The entire city of Fatehpur Sikri has been listed among the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Enjoy guided sightseeing tour and interesting birth story of this beautiful city also known as the city of Mughals. Next you are making your way to Sawai Madhopur the place known for its Ranthambhore Tiger reserve. The Ranthambhore tiger reserve at junction of the Aravalli and the Vindhyas is a unique juxtaposition of natural and historical richness, standing out conspicuously in the vast, arid and denude track of eastern Rajasthan, barely 14 Kms from Sawai Madhopur. It is Rajasthan’s best sizable area of forest and savannah. Capture some spectacular views of the majestic Aravalli ranges in your camera as you make way to your jungle resort. Day 8: Wildlife safari & Indian Barbeque

As dawn breaks the jungle comes alive with bird and animal calls prepare for the first game drive at 6:00 – 9:30 am kindly check with the reception if there is any change in time. Enjoy the national park travelling in canter with an estimated area of 400sq Km of this amazing reserve. The park is dotted with steep rocky hills and the dominating architecture of Ranthambhor Fort (built in the 10th century), adds to its landscape. The rugged park terrain alternates between dry deciduous forest, open grassy meadow, dotted by several lakes and rivers that are only made passable by rough roads built and maintained by the Forest Service. The tiger is not the only attraction at Ranthambore although it is the one park resident that people come to see. A variety of birds including Owlets, the ubiquitous Langur (monkey), Leopard, Caracal, Hyena, Jackal, Jungle Cat, marsh Crocodiles, Wild Boar, Bears and various species of Deer are the other attractions. Return to the hotel approximately around 9:30 am and have your breakfast. Later in the afternoon we have another game drive. As per surroundings we will enjoy India bar-be-queue dinner in the lawns of the hotel. The food is first marinated for hours before skewing through iron rod and cooked over the charcoal fire and clay oven also known a Tandoor to give is a unique flavour. Food we enjoy will be selection of tikka’s and kebabs accompanied by local dishes. (B,L,D)


Day 9: Ranthambore – Jaipur & home-made meal

After breakfast travel to Jaipur. The Pink City of Rajasthan is a treasure-trove of culture, art and history and famous for its colour, life style and Rajasthani cuisine. Evening goes exploring the Local Bazaars. Witness local men wearing turbans, describing their clan and women in their beautiful mirror jaded colourful clothes displaying the color of India. Explore world famous jewellery bazaar which offers a variety that ranges from chunky tribal Jewellery to enamelled gold to modern diamond jewellery. In Rajasthan, men and women can be seen sporting necklaces, armlets, anklets, earrings and rings. Silver is more commonly worn by the rural women and is certainly more affordable for a shopper. Jaipur is well known for its gold and silver enamelling. Colourful bangles and set with semiprecious stones make an inexpensive buy. The local bazaars are also known for its embroidered leather shoes, blue pottery, tie and dye scarves and other exotic wares. To understand what a typically Indian family eat on a daily basis we visit Rajput or Royal family house and participate in proper cooking lesson so you can create quick, simple and healthy curry when you are back home. Lady of the house will guide you through the lesson and telling the story of there royal past. We enjoy a typical house meal consist of vegetables, lentil, non vegetarian, some snacks, rice and chapatti. Stay two nights at Jaipur. Stay two nights at Jaipur. (B,L,D)


Day 10: Sightseeing & Rajasthani food

After breakfast enjoy guided city tour and visit Amber Fort, the ancient capital of Rajasthan and the majestic palace complex to witness a unique system of air-conditioning of 17th century. The most enthralling experience of Amber Fort is the gaily decorated elephant ride. A beautiful complex of Palaces, halls, pavilions, garden and temples built by Raja Mansingh, Raja Jaisingh and Sawai Jaisingh over a period of about two centuries, it still stands in its magnificent state. The red sandstone and white Marble palace has some very interesting apartments- Diwan-I-Am, Ganesh Pol, Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Niwas, Jai Mandir, Man Singh Palace and Shila Devi Temple. City Palace Museum; boasts to have some of the priceless handwritten Hindu scriptures of the ancient past, miniature delicate paintings, preserved painted ceilings and the elephant saddles (haudas),and is registered in the Guinness Book of Records to contain the biggest silver objects in the world. Visit Maharaja’s City Palace, Jantar Mantar; one of the famed observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh is a complex of astronomical instruments, chiselled out of stone which provides fairly accurate information to this day, photo stop at Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace); built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh at a time when women of the royal family had to observe strict purdah, it is believed that this palace was built for them to take pleasure in the processions and various activities taking place in the streets below without showing themselves and thus enjoying a sense of freedom. Drive-pass the old parts of Jaipur city. Overnight at Jaipur. In the evening have a traditional Rajasthani Thali at Choki Dhani, and all the entertainments of a street fare is a great venue. The Thali here usually has some vegetables only grown in Rajasthan desert areas and served along with Bajra (millet) chapattis amongst other Rajasthani delicacies. Stay overnight at Jaipur. (B,L,D)


Day 11: Jaipur - Delhi Departure

After leisurely breakfast we travel back to Delhi. Tour finish by late afternoon with direct transfer to Delhi International airport where you board your onwards flight. (B)
