In India the tour highlights the Golden Triangle consisting of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur with Ranthambore tiger reserve. Start on your journey with a visit to the Qutub Minar, drive past the famous India Gate, Gandhi Memorial and explore the famous Chandni Chowk bazaar on a bi-cycle rickshaw adding a unique experience to the trip. Enjoy a Tonga ride in Agra (a horse drawn carriage) to witness sunrise visit to the famous Taj Mahal followed by a visit to the Agra Fort and the local bazaars. The highlight for some will be the wildlife safaris in Ranthambore tiger reserve. Try spotting the famous Bengal Tigers with hoards of other wildlife and exotic birds. Day 01: Arrive Colombo

Upon arrival in Colombo you will be met and assisted by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS tour manager in the arrival hall who in-turn will provide you with an assisted transfer to your designated hotel for an overnight stay. (No Meal)


Day 02: Colombo – Kandy

After breakfast travel to Kandy, en-route halt to visit the spice plantation, temple of the “Tooth Relic”. Stay overnight in Kandy. (B,L,D)


Day 03: Kandy – Yala

Today after a leisurely breakfast travel to Yala National Park. The evening is free for you to explore this small resort town. Enjoy your two nights stay in the resort. (B,L,D)


Day 04: Yala National Park

After breakfast proceed for a jeep safari in the National Park. Rest of the day is at leisure and stay overnight in the resort. (B,L,D)


Day 05: Yala – Bentota

Today after breakfast travel to Bentota, a small resort that lies cradled between the sea and a lagoon, endowed with some stunning views. Explore its beautiful beaches, enjoy various water sports with two nights stay in Kalutara. (B,L,D)


Day 06: Bentota

Today the day is kept free for your own activities, you can indulge yourself in body surfing, swimming, diving and windsurfing and so on. (B,L,D)


Day 07: Bentota – Delhi by flight

After an early morning breakfast prepare to venture another country. Get in-time assisted transfer to Colombo to connect your flight to Delhi, the capital city of the largest democracy in the world – India. Day 08: Delhi

After breakfast enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi with a visit to the old and New Delhi. Stay overnight in Delhi. (B,L,D)


Day 09: Delhi – Agra

Today after breakfast travel to one of India’s most historical cities, the city of Taj. Visit the Agra fort. Stay overnight in Agra. (B,L,D)


Day 10: Agra – Ranthambore

Today, pay a sunrise visit to the famous monument of love, The Taj Mahal. Return back to our hotel for breakfast and prepare ourselves for travel to Ranthambore National Park. Day 11: Wildlife Safari

Day 13: Jaipur Sightseeing

After a lavish breakfast proceed for a city sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Visit Amber Fort on the back of an elephant. Later continue to visit the City Palace and the observatory taking a photo stop at Hawa Mahal. (B,L,D)


Day 14: Jaipur – Kathmandu by flight

After an early breakfast we travel to Delhi airport to board our flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival the group will be met and assisted by Total Holiday Options Tour Manager who will provide an assisted transfer to your designated hotel for a two nights stay. (B,L,D)


Day 15: Kathmandu Sightseeing

Day 16: Nagarkot

International Flights

The tour packages are usually “Land Only” and do not include international flights.  We therefore recommend that you contact us or your travel agent to book your flights well in advance of travel, when you can generally gain access to specials and discounted airfares. Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is compulsory on all of our journeys. Speak to us or your travel agent about comprehensive insurance to cover your travel arrangements. This must critically cover medical expenses in case of an emergency.  Note that travel insurance automatically provided with credit cards generally does not provide adequate cover. Its your responsibility to ensure that you have appropriate and comprehensive travel insurance.

Medical Information

Our elderly travellers who are aged 70 years or more, or with a per-existing condition that affects their fitness to travel or any medical dietary requirement, must be advised at the time of booking. We recommend all travellers should visit their Doctor for these aforementioned purposes and/or to confirm that they are physically able to undertake the day-to-day requirements of the tour.

Selecting Your Holiday Type

Most of our journeys are suited to those with normal fitness and mobility levels. To assist you in choosing a journey best for you we have graded our tours;

Easy Paced: These programs are set at a comfortable pace. Walking and climbing of stairs involved is generally in and around major tourist attractions though you may require walking from road till boat jetty while embarking or disembarking boats.

Moderate: These tours are not strenuous but you will require good amount of fitness as they may include days with long periods of walking or soft trekking, climbing of stairs, embarking and disembarking boats and where longer distances may be travelled by uneven roads.

Adventurous: These refer to programs where your physical fitness needs to be on highest level. Trekking, cycling, climbing, walking and more adventurous activities may be included.

Getting Around

Comfort is our first priority. All our coaches are air-conditioned with push back seats. We even offer 30-35 seater coach when only 16 people are in a group, providing everyone a window seats. Our train journeys in air-conditioning sleeper class where bedding is provided by the train attendant and itineraries that include domestic flight to connect destination we use economy class.

Passport & Visas

India: Visa is required for all foreign nationals. 

Apply online for a Pre-Approval at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html .The online application should be submitted a minimum of 4 days in advance and a maximum of 30days of the proposed date of travel. TVOA links may also be found in websites of Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Bureau of Immigration, Incredible India etc.

As of 27 Nov 2014 nationals and passport holder of 34 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Finland, Luxem Bourg, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and Myanmar to name a few,  can avail a Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) facility upon disembarking at international airports Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi and Trivandrum only. You will require to pay fees along with require documentation and is subject to verification and satisfaction of the Immigration. Please contact High Commission of India for updated information.

Sri Lanka: Every tourist visiting Sri Lanka required visa prior to departure. Visa must be obtained atleast 01 months prior to arrival in Sri Lanka by visiting www.eta.gov.lk The Tourist visa is valid for stay within 30 days. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel to Sri Lanka. Fee will apply.

Nepal: Visa is required for all foreign nationalities and the best way to apply for visa is from the Royal Nepalese diplomatic missions in your home country. Tourist Visa also can be obtained on arrival. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel in Nepal. Fee will apply.

Bhutan: All foreign nationals require visa for Bhutan.

Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Bhutan. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Bhutan.

Tourism Council of Bhutan issues visa clearance letter closer to travelling date which we email or fax you or your local travel agent. Travellers are required to produce aforesaid visa clearance copy at the time of check-in for their flights while those entering Bhutan by surface via Phuentsholing or Samdrup Jonkhar, they are required to produce this Visa Clearance letter at the Immigration counter. Actual visa is stamped at passport on arrival in Bhutan.

Visa only service is not offered in Bhutan, you would have to book a service tour package from TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS that includes accommodation, guided tours, transfers etc

Myanmar: Visa is required for all nationalities.

Visa can be arranged by TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS. To process this we require international flight details, clear readable colour copy of passport (page containing passport no and face picture in JPEG or PDF format) and current colour passport photograph and at least 30 days prior to date of entry into Myanmar. Remaining validity of passport should be at least 6 months from the date of exit from Myanmar.

Day 01: Arrive Colombo

Day 02: Colombo – Kandy

After breakfast travel to Kandy, en-route halt to visit the spice plantation. Pay a visit to the revered temple of the “Tooth Relic” and enjoy a cultural dance performance in the evening. Kandy is a city in the centre of Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. Kandy is one of the most scenic cities in Sri Lanka; it is both an administrative and religious city. It is the capital of the Central Province (which encompasses the districts of Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya). Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic one of the most venerable places for the Buddhist community of Sri Lanka and all around the world. It was declared a world heritage by the UNESCO in 1988. Your overnight stay will be in Kandy. (B,L,D)


Day 03: Kandy – Yala

After a leisurely breakfast and a bit of relaxation we travel to Yala National Park. The evening is free for you to explore this small resort town. The Yala area is mostly composed of metamorphic rock belonging to the Precambrian era and classified into two series, Vijayan and Highland series. Reddish brown soil and low humic grey soil are prominent among six soil types. Yala is situated in the lowest peneplain of Sri Lanka, which extends from Trincomalle to Hambantota. Topographically the area is a flat and mildly undulating plain that runs to the coast with an elevation of 30 metres (98 ft) close to the coast while rising to 100–125 metres (330–410 ft) in its interiors. Day 04: Yala National Park

After breakfast proceed for a jeep safari in the National Park and try spotting Leopards with extensive population of wild elephants. Rest of the day is at leisure and stay overnight in the resort. The park is situated in the dry semi-arid climatic region and rain is received mainly during the northeast monsoon. Yala hosts a variety of ecosystems ranging from moist monsoon forests to freshwater and marine wetlands. It is one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in Sri Lanka. Yala harbours 215 bird species including six endemic species of Sri Lanka. The number of mammals that has been recorded from the park is 44, and it has one of the highest leopard densities in the world. Stay overnight at the resort. (B,L,D)


Day 05: Yala – Kalutara

After breakfast travel to Kalutara, a small resort that lies cradled between the sea and a lagoon, endowed with some stunning views. Explore its beautiful beaches, enjoy various water sports with two nights stay in Kalutara. Once an important spice-trading center, the city's name is derived from the Kalu Ganga River ('Black River' in native Sinhala). In the 11th Century, the town was temporarily made a capital on the orders of a South Indian Prince. The region was later planted with coconut trees, whose by-products are used for both internal and external trade. The location also boasts fortifications dating back from the times when Portuguese, Dutch and British vied for control of the area. The 38-meter long Kalutara Bridge was built at the mouth of the Kalu Ganga River and serves as a major link between the country's western and southern border. At the southern end of the bridge lies the 3 stories-high Kalutara Vihara, a Buddhist temple, built in the 1960s which holds the distinction of being the only stupa in the world that is hollow. Day 07: Kalutara - Delhi

After an early morning breakfast prepare to venture another country. Get in-time assistance transfer to Colombo to connect your flight to Delhi, the capital city of the largest democracy in the world – India. Get assistance transfer to your hotel upon your arrival and the rest of the day is free for you to engulf in your own activities. Located on the banks of the River Yamuna, Delhi has been known to be continuously inhabited since at least the 6th century BC, though human habitation is believed to have existed since the second millennium BC. Delhi is also widely believed to have been the site of Indraprastha, the legendary capital of the Pandavas during the times of the Mahabharata. Delhi re-emerged as a major political, cultural and commercial city along the trade routes between northwest India and the Gangetic plain after the rise of the Delhi sultanates. It is the site of many ancient and medieval monuments, archaeological sites and remains. In 1639, Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built a new walled city in Delhi which served as the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1649 to 1857. Stay for two nights in this metropolitan city. (B,L,D)


Day 08: Delhi

After buffet breakfast and tour briefing, start your full day sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi. Drive pass the renowned 17th-century landmark Lal Qila; the Red Fort Palace, Jama Masjid literally meaning the Friday Mosque; India’s principal and biggest mosque, Chandni Chowk; Shahjahanabad’s Main Street in 1650 facing the majestic Red Fort. It originally had a central canal running down its full length, and when moonlight reflected off the water it got the name Chandni Chowk or ‘Avenue of Moonlight’. The canals have long since gone and it is now a chaotically bustling area, typical of real India, containing a mix of stalls, shops, food outlets and temples. Between the mosque and Chandni Chowk is a narrow shop-lined street along which you will be transported by cycle rickshaws on your most photogenic journey of the tour. The locals go shopping here like nowhere else. Also visit Gandhi Memorial; the simple black marble slab honouring Mahatma Gandhi, Qutab Minar; the 279-step tower dating to 1193, drive past India Gate; that honours the 90,000 Indian soldiers who died in World War, President House and Parliament house. Day 09: Delhi – Agra

After breakfast travel to one of India’s most historical cities, the city of Taj. Pay a historical visit to Agra fort build by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Though Agra's history is largely recognised with Mughal Kingdom, but the place was established much before it and has linkages since Mahabharata period and Maharishi Angira in 1000 BC. It is generally accepted that Sultan Sikandar Lodi, the Ruler of the Delhi Sultanate founded Agra in the year 1504. After the Sultan's death the city passed on to his son Sultan Ibrahim Lodi. He ruled his Sultanate from Agra until he fell fighting to Babar in the First battle of Panipat fought in 1526. Stay overnight in Agra. (B,L,D)


Day 10: Agra – Ranthambore

Pay a sunrise visit to the famous monument of love, The Taj Mahal build by Emperor Akbar for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Return back to our hotel for breakfast and prepare ourselves for travel to Ranthambore National Park. Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest and most renowned National Parks in Northern India. The park is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of South-eastern Rajasthan, which is about 130 km from Jaipur. Being considered as one of the famous and former hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, today the Ranthambore National Park terrain is major wildlife tourist attraction spot that has pulled the attention of many wildlife photographers and lovers in this destination. Rest of the day is at leisure. Stay for two nights in the resort. (B,L,D)


Day 11: Wildlife Safari

After breakfast enjoy a morning and an afternoon game viewing by canter around an estimated area of 400sq Km of this amazing reserve. Ranthambore National park is spread over an area of 1,334 sq km along with its nearby sanctuaries like - the Mansingh Sanctuary and the Kaila Devi Sanctuary. The park is majorly famous for its tigers and is one of the best locations in India to see the majestic predators in its natural habitat. The tigers can be easily spotted even during the day time busy at their ordinary quest- hunting and taking proper care of their young ones. Ranthambore is also counted as the famous heritage site because of the pictorial ruins that dot the wildlife park. Certainly, a visit to Ranthambore National Park is a treat for every wildlife and nature lover. The time spend on watching tigers roaming around, verdant greenery, a gamut of other species of chirpy birds and animals is priceless and worth enough to be explored at least once in a life. Day 12: Ranthambore – Jaipur

Today as dawn breaks, enjoy your breakfast as we prepare to proceed to yet another fascinating city driving through the colorful country side to our next destination in the itinerary, the ‘Pink City’ or the city of Jaipur. This evening enjoy exploring this great town that boasts its cultural heritage at every nook and corner. Stay for two nights in Jaipur. (B,L,D)


Day 13: Jaipur

After a lavish breakfast proceed for a city sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Visit Amber Fort on the back of an elephant. Later continue to visit the City Palace and the observatory taking a photo stop at Hawa Mahal, also known as the wind palace build in the 17th century. Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II who ruled from 1699–1744 and initially his capital was Amber, which lies at a distance of 11 km from Jaipur. He felt the need of shifting his capital city with the increase in population and growing scarcity of water. The King consulted several books on architecture and architects before making the layout of Jaipur. Finally under the architectural guidance of Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, (initially an accounts-clerk in the Amber treasury and later promoted to the office of Chief Architect by the King) Jaipur came into existence on the classical basis of principles of Vastu Shastra and similar classical treatise. Day 14: Jaipur – Kathmandu

After an early breakfast we travel to Delhi airport to board our flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival the group will be met and assisted by Total Holiday Options Tour Manager who will provide an assisted transfer to your designated hotel for a two nights stay. (B,L,D)


Day 15: Kathmandu

After breakfast the group proceeds for a city sightseeing tour of Kathmandu or optionally in the afternoon depending on the weather one can opt for a scenic flight to see Mt. Everest. Stay overnight in Kathmandu. (B,L,D)


Day 16: Nagarkot

Today after breakfast we visit the world Heritage listed site formally as the Royal palace and the Durbar Square, Swyambhunath Stupa and the Boudhnath Stupa around Patan, which is also the second largest city of Nepal before travelling to Nagarkot. It is considered one of the most scenic spots in Bhaktapur District. It is renowned for its sunrise view of the Himalaya including Mount Everest as well as other snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal. Nagarkot also offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. Nagarkot is an international tourist destination with spectacular views of the whole Langtang range, sunrise on the mountains and sunset views. Stay for two nights in Nagarkot. (B,L,D)


Day 17: Nagarkot

Wake up to the sunrise and witness the spectacular view of the snow capped peaks of the mighty Himalayas on the eastern side of Nepal. The day is kept free for you to relax and soak yourself amidst the environment. Stay overnight in Nagarkot. (B,L,D)


Day 18: Kathmandu Departure

The tour finishes today as we bid our farewell and return to the airport after breakfast to catch our return onward flight. (B)
